A Decade of Dedication: The Transformation of La Ventilla Farm

In 1986, Francisco Riberas acquired the La Ventilla farm in El Carpio de Tajo (Toledo), and embarked on an ambitious transformation of the farm. Over the following decade, he planted an impressive 300,000 olive trees, which have since thrived in the favorable climate of the area. His dedication to caring for the land has been rewarded with olives of an exceptional quality, and in 2011, Casas de Hualdo released its first oils, the culmination of years of hard work.

The Taste of Nature: A Visit to Hualdo Farm

Nestled on the banks of the Tagus River, Hualdo Farm is a unique and privileged natural area that is home to a stunning mix of cultivated crops and wild flora and fauna. From corn, wheat, barley and pea plantations to pistachio and olive trees, the farm produces a multitude of diverse and nutrient-rich products. As a proud steward of the local Manchego sheep, Casas de Hualdo also added artisanal cheese to their product line, allowing visitors to sample the true taste of the local agriculture.

Sustainable Agriculture: Working with Nature for a Balanced Future

A closed cycle like this is a perfect example of sustainability. Every part of the farm contributes to the production process, from the cereals and alfalfa used to feed the sheep to the prunings and remains of the grass used to fertilize the soil. Not only does this help maintain the balance of nature, but it also ensures that the farm can produce crops without depleting the soil of nutrients. This sustainable approach to agriculture is essential for maintaining the fertility of farmland and is an example of how one can work with nature, rather than against it.

They have been recognized by prestigious organizations and tasting panels in countries such as Spain, Portugal, France, Italy, Germany, China, Japan, Canada, the United States, Argentina, and the Denomination of Origin in the Spanish region. Varietal ARBEQUINA was awarded Best EVOO of Spain by the Spanish Agriculture Ministry (2014, 2015 and 2018). FLOS OLEI guide: 2022 100/100 for Varietal PICUAL and 2023 100/100 for RESERVA DE FAMILIA. Above all, they have been recognized daily by many olive oil lovers. The EVOOs from Casas de Hualdo are the culmination of intense, dedicated work and represent the team's excellence in every step of the production process, from comprehensive agricultural management in the field, to sustainability and research, to the very farm itself. They are honored to be able to bring their bottles to tables around the world and are deeply grateful for the fascinating natural setting of Finca Hualdo.
