Catalan Gourmet, based in New York, specializes in the commercialization of gourmet food from our farms in Barcelona area, Spain. This region is often referred as "the place that produces the finest arbequina olive oil in the world".
Our mission is to provide the US customers with the opportunity to enjoy an exceptional selection of Arbequina Extra Virgin Olive, Olives, Vinegars, Marcona and Largueta Almonds. With Catalan Gourmet, those luxuries can now be enjoyed each and every day.
Our tradition comes from our Roman ancestors, back 2000 years ago. We like to define Olive Oil simply as a juice of olives. Founded in 1982, AGROLES is a leading producer of Mediterranean gourmet products with 25 M US$ annual sales. We produce Extra Virgin Olive Oil from Arbequina olives, Vinegar and Almonds.
CATALAN GOURMET was founded to provide AGROLES with local presence in the US territory. Based in New York City, we import our products and storage them into our partner’s facility and distribute them to our final customers.
AGROLES produces in its own farms, packages in its own factory and distributes to its end customers. Controlling the integral process from Farm to Table, help us servicing our customers with the personal touch they deserve and with the confidence that we deliver exceptional quality products.
AGROLES is owned by around 5,000 farmers. AGROLES is a mid sized company with mixed cooperative structure and is subject to external audits, certified in quality and processes and managed under efficiency criteria. We are a moderns company that brings solvency to owners, customers, suppliers and staff. Catalan Gourmet is owned 51 % by AGROLES and 49 % by US shareholders.
There is a strong link between AGROLES and the Ebre Valley in the North-East of Span, because this is the region where our owners grow their crops. Therefore there is a commitment between people, region and AGROLES. It consists in a special care looking our environment and society improvement.
