Romesco has its origins in the port city of Tarragona, Catalonia. It is typically made from a mixture of tomatoes, ñora peppers, nuts, extra virgin olive oil and a few spices. Michele searched for years for the perfect one! Our recipe has been perfected by Basque chef Mikel Trevino de Luis. While Romesco was originally made by fishermen to pair with seafood, this versatile condiment pairs well with a number of foods.
Versatile condiment that adds a punch of flavor and richness. No bread added so gluten free.
Traditionally served with calçots (grilled spring onions) or fish and seafood, but also livens up bread, potatoes and grilled vegetables.
Tomato (tomato, salt, citric acid), extra virgin olive oil, sherry vinegar, toasted almond, toasted hazelnut, dried ñora pepper pulp (dried ñora pepper, acidifier: citric acid), garlic, paprika, dried cayenne.
